Arriving

Tuesday, May 14, Frankfurt Airport.

Our trip is starting now – with waiting. I suppose that most of the time on airports we spend waiting. But it has come to an end and after about seven and a half hours jetting across the pond with this good old 747 we are arriving in Big Apple! The flight was OK, service (Lufthansa) and weather on the way too but the weather in NYC not 😭.

Cause we have only light luggage we can immediately take the Airtrain JFK to Sutphin Blvd. Station and then the Subway F on BMT Nassau Street Line to Bowery Station, Manhattan, Chinatown. Not so far from there we’ve found a small but fine hotel. It profits the most important you can get in Manhattan if you have less time: short distances! We can simply walk (!) to the real hot spots of city life and most of the special locations a photographer is interested in: Manhattan Bridge 1.1 mi, Greenwich Village 1.4 mi, Wall St. 1.5 mi, Staten Island Ferry 2 mi, Flatiron 1.7 mi, Empire State 2.2 mi. I’m certain, even if you intend to take special photos you have to walk!

This is exactly what we want to do in New York: spend some relaxed days in May, usually the best time for traveling here, walking around, take photographs and enjoy atmosphere and urban life of the city that never sleeps.

Once I decided to relaunch my website I was looking for the best date and cause to do this. The day is terminated at June 15 and the cause… When it was clear that I’d come to NYC in May it was absolutely certain, what the cause was ment to be. Can you imagine any better option to start a new photographer’s website than to launch it with brandnew pictures of New York?

Be free to follow me on this journey and further! I’m not an adventurer (but an Avenger! 😉), I take photographs and want to enjoy it. But sometimes I give thought to something I shot and I note it. If you are willing to spend a little of your time with that stuff, I would be pleased.
